In only a few short hours, the first teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will debut on the MTV Movie Awards. For those who adore Suzanne Collins' novels, and for those of us who cover the news on a regular basis, it means having to endure that intolerable broadcast. As a way of building up to the new footage, the film's Facebook page has been dropping a number of new photos depicting Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and her sister Primrose (Willow Shields), Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Effie Trinkett (Elizabeth Banks), President Snow (Donald Sutherland), and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Head Gamesmaker Plutarch Heavensbee.
Directed by Francis Lawrence with Jeffrey Wright, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Jena Malone, and Sam Claflin co-starring, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens on November 22nd.
PLOT: THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
