Two Mystery Marvel Projects Dated for 2016 and 2017
Marvel's second phase only just began with last month's Iron Man 3 (it was only a month ago???), and doesn't end until The Avengers 2 in May 2015. Disney and Marvel didn't get this far by waiting around, though, and already they're setting the stage for Phase Three by dating two mystery projects.
In the midst of a sudden flurry of activity today, Disney has set aside May 6, 2016 and May 5, 2017 for two unknown Marvel movies. Making this announcement now all but guarantees we'll learn more during the inevitable Marvel panel at Comic-Con next month, but speculation about what these movies could be has already begun. The most obvious candidates are Dr. Strange and Black Panther, with rumors about both picking up of late. There's also been talk of an Inhumans film, or these spots could be reserved for Captain America, Thor, or Guardians of the Galaxy sequels. If they stick by the usual schedule, expect at least one more film to hit in those years.
The next film on the slate is Thor: The Dark World, coming up this November 8th.
