Time's Up in the New Trailer for Vin Diesel's 'Riddick'

It's been nearly a decade since Vin Diesel's The Chronicles of Riddick, and despite the film not really living up to the promise of cult hit Pitch Black, he never let enthusiasm for the franchise slide. In fact, Diesel spent that time trying to bring the warrior Furyan back to the big screen with Riddick, and everything we've seen so far suggests it will be going back to its sci-fi/horror roots.

The latest trailer sticks closely to the red band promo released during Comic-Con, practically while Diesel was up on stage chatting about it. Riddick finds himself trapped on a desolate planet, surrounded by bounty hunters he's been forced to signal as his only means of escape. As dangerous a predicament as that may be, the real threat comes from the fearsome creatures that inhabit the planet, including what appears to be a giant flying space dragon.

Starring Katee Sackhoff, Dave Bautista, Jordi Molla, Karl Urban, and Bokeem Woodbine, Riddick hits theaters on September 6th.
