Dwayne Johnson and McG Will Take On 'The Fall Guy'
Already having a career year, Dwayne Johnson has seen his name mentioned for practically every developing studio tentpole coming around the bend. It's hard to blame them as every thing he touches seems to turn to gold (um, except for Empire State), and now a deal has been struck for him to help revive a long-developing take on hit 1980s TV series, The Fall Guy, with Terminator Salvation director McG being eyed to helm.
Out of Toronto comes word that Johnson is in talks to take on the role made famous by Lee Majors, that of a Hollywood stuntman who would hop in his cool GMC pickup truck and moonlight as a bounty hunter. A feature film has been in the works for ages over at Warner Bros. and Dreamworks, with Casino Royale director Martin Campbell eying it most recently. Whether the prior script by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz is still at play is unclear, but with McG at the helm we probably have a pretty good idea of what we're going to be in for.
WWE Studios is co-producing, marking Johnson's first film with the wrestling giant since 2004's Walking Tall, back when he was still primarily known for wowing crowds in the ring as The Rock. [THR]
