Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn Rumored for 'Terminator' Reboot
So there are rumors, and then there are dustings of misinformation courtesy of The Mirror. The U.K. tabloid rag frequently drops ridiculous casting gossip in the middle of seemingly legit stories. For instance, a simple story about Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to the Terminator franchise at the age of 66 also includes the following blurb, which should be kind of a big deal....
"Actress Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn will also return to the cast."
With Thor: The Dark World's Alan Taylor having recently come aboard to direct, and a release date set for summer 2015, there's no doubt that additional casting is right around the corner. However bringing back the original Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese seems very unlikely, if only because it would sort of defeat the purpose of a reboot, and the time-travel continuity mess it would create could cause heads to explode.
At the same time, there are still questions about Schwarzenegger's role because it's unlikely he could play the Terminator at this stage of his career. That's led to some unfounded rumors he would play the human protector or the Connors in a 1940s-set story, with Dwayne Johnson as the robotic Terminator sent to kill them. It's possible that screenwriters Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier are working on something along these lines, but even that wouldn't call for Hamilton or Biehn to come back for any reason.
The Terminator reboot will be part of the overcrowded summer on June 26th 2015.
