Liam Neeson is 'Taken' for a Flight in New Trailer for 'Non-Stop'
You can't really blame Liam Neeson for following the same Taken formula time and time again. The action flick didn't just revitalize his career a few years ago, it completely changed it, turning him into a Bourne-esque hero for the older set. And with over $600M earned by the franchise it's a proven box office success, so why screw with what works? Unfortunately, that also means we're going to get generic stinkers like Unknown and now the airline disaster movie, Non-Stop.
The first trailer for Non-Stop has launched and it kind of plays like a SNL parody of Liam Neeson movies. He plays a federal Air Marshall with a special set of skills on an international flight who, as we see in the footage, starts receiving some mildly threatening text messages, heralding acts of terror that threaten everyone on board. While Taken is clearly the impetus for having Neeson in this movie at all, with its mysterious unseen villain texting out his demands it comes off more like Getaway on a jet plane. But maybe there's more to it than this rather bland trailer suggests as Julianne Moore, Michelle Dockery, Scoot McNairy, and Corey Stoll are co-starring. Is there anything that separates Neeson for Bruce Willis at this point, other than a curmudgeonly attitude?
Neeson reunites with his Unknown director Jaume Collet-Serra for Non-Stop on February 28th.
