New Poster for 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'; Trailer Arrives Thursday
Now that Marvel's Thor: The Dark World is only a couple of weeks away from hitting theaters, it's time to start the hype for the next Phase Two film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Marvel Studios has released a brand new poster, while revealing the first trailer will arrive on Thursday.
The image features Chris Evans as the star-spangled Avenger as he prepares to leap from a SHIELD helicarrier to the defense of the Nation's Capital. The threat he'll face will be his old friend and partner, Bucky (Sebastian Stan), who was presumed dead but has been brainwashed and turned into a cold-blooded assassin known as the Winter Soldier. We also know that Cap will be teaming up with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and that the film will tie-in heavily with The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Those who caught the footage at Comic-Con have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the trailer, and all I'll say is to expect a very different sort of movie than we had before. This one has a Jason Bourne feel to it that should work well within the world Marvel has created.
Co-starring Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo, Toby Jones, and Robert Redford, Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens April 4th 2014.
