Hey, screw you Internet! Yesterday, Evil Dead writer Rodo Sayagues was said to have revealed he and director Fede Alvarez had departed any planned sequels months ago. He went so far as to say that Evil Dead 2 was "not going to happen", throwing everything we'd heard recently into question. Turns out that's not the case, not by a long stretch.
Alvarez took to Twitter and, after a warning to not believe every story read on the Internet (even the ones straight from the writer??), he explained that Sayagues' words were basically lost in translation. He insisted to BloodyDigusting that both are still very much on board Evil Dead 2, but the priority for Sam Raimi has shifted to Army of Darkness 2. So it sounds as if everything is still a go, including the crossing over of the two franchises in one epic finale.
