"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Debrief: Episode 1.09, "Repairs"

Hey trill believers, it’s me again, here with a fresh debrief for you on our most favoritest show in the whole wide world...Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. So on their fine Holiday week edition of the series we don’t get a wholesome coming together episode where a cast member takes the team into their home to eat turkey nor do the two UK members of the team learn about the history and joy of Thanksgiving though super spy science and Americanism. We get a GHOST STORY!! Yep that’s right we get a ghost story on Thanksgiving and not Halloween.

We are introduced to a young woman named Hannah. As she is shopping in a gas station the man behind the counter starts talking about some accident that caused people to die, continually harassing her with the story. As she get more and more shaken by the man’s verbal attacks he comes from behind the counter as she tries to leave the station. From out of nowhere the man is attacked by his own stock in the store as it flies around hitting him while he continually blames her. As he tries to leave the store he notices gas on the ground which ignites consuming him in flames.

We then cut to Agent May and Ward getting dressed in a hotel room after what we are led to believe one of their many liaisons after missions. Once back on the Bus (that big old plane) Coulson tells Skye about the case and how Hannah could be a special person, aka, person with superpowers. Coulson thinks she could be telekinetic and that he, Ward, and May should go investigate with Skye watching from afar. Once there the situation goes from bad to worse as the townspeople go on some straight up middle ages trip with folks charging her home to get her out. As a car just magically starts trying to hit people Agent May decides to tranquilize her and they take Hannah back to the Bus.

While on the Bus in the interrogation room we find out that she thinks she's being haunted by demons, Coulson still thinks she is special. All of this goes out of the window when the plane loses power and Jemma is attacked by a ghostly handyman wielding a wrench who teleports around like Nightcrawler from the X-men.  The rest of the episode is people saying my bad and Skye going around being a super friend to Hannah while being her usual spoiled brat self to Agent May.

The thing is, this episode seems to be giving us more about Agent May but really it’s about Skye learning more about May and us the viewers learn more with her. She’s still an unstoppable force of badassness. Like seriously I have no idea why she isn’t on the Avengers. She is damn near like a female Captain America with her level of handling folks. So back to what happened Ward ends up facing off against the Ghost nightcrawler handy man but is defeated by being knocked upside the head with the wrench. This foe straight up outsmarts all the members of the team EXCEPT Agent May who ghosted on a teleporting ghost.  She then proceeds to take Hannah away from the Bus because the “ghost” is trying to protect her at all costs. What we see next is Agent May kick the crap out of a teleporting ghost guy in a couple of minutes. All to learn that this guy was in love with Hannah and caused all of this trouble just because he wanted to see her more. May then talks the guy into basically fade away since Hannah will never love him and he did too many bad things.  So the whole day is saved because of Agent May and now Skye understands her better from her talks with Coulson.

Did You Know:

Roxxon Oil was the gas station in the beginning that blew up. They’ve used that logo a lot in most of the MCU (Cinematic Universe) but it could lead to something since the head of Roxxon is pretty important to the Winter Solider storyline in the original comic story. So maybe if they keep on dropping these logos it could lead to something for the Cap movie in April.
