Chris Pratt Enters 'Jurassic World' as Josh Brolin Exits; Irrfan Khan Sought

Is there an actor who is more on fire right now than Chris Pratt? The funnyman from Parks & Recreation has been making waves on the big screen, and doing it in a way few could have predicted. Coming off a small role in Zero Dark Thirty, he went on to win the Star-Lord role in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and later this month he'll star opposite Vince Vaughn in Delivery Man. So what's next? How about a one-way ticket to Jurassic World?

The Wrap reports Pratt is in talks to join Jurassic World, which has been casting up rapidly over the last couple of weeks. One of the other names mentioned for the lead part was Josh Brolin, but apparently talks fell through and it'll be Pratt stepping in. If anything it proves just how far Pratt has come that Universal sees him as being on Brolin's level.  Also, it looks like the great Indian actor Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi) is being sought for a supporting role, which is pretty big news all by itself.

If everything comes together both actors will join Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, and Bryce Dallas Howard in the Colin Trevorrow-directed film, opening on June 12th 2015.
