Dwayne Johnson to Star in True Survival Drama 'Not Without Hope'

Those who recall Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's WWE days will recall him as one of the hardest working superstars in the business, and it's an ethic he's retained since making the transition to Hollywood. Having recently wrapped Brett Ratner's Hercules film, he's currently shooting Fast & Furious 7, while adding multiple projects like The Fall Guy, San Andreas, and Seal Team 666 to his busy schedule. How does he fit it all in? Who knows, but apparently there's room for one more.

Johnson will star in survival drama Not Without Hope, based on the 2010 memoir by Nick Schuyler. The story recounts the tragic 2009 boating expedition he took with three friends, including NFL players Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith, that ended in disaster when their boat capsized in the Gulf of Mexico. Schuyler was the only one who survived while the bodies of his friends were never recovered. It's a harrowing, true story and one that should garner Johnson a chance to flex his dramatic muscles rather than just his biceps.

This one's still pretty early on as a writer and director need to be found, but with Johnson on board that shouldn't be a problem.
