Kinetic Red Band Trailer for 'Charlie Countryman' Starring Shia LaBeouf

The question isn't if Fredrik Bond's Euro-set thriller Charlie Countryman packs a lot of energy; previous trailers have shown it to be a kinetic mix of action and thumping beats expected from the music video director. But after playing at Sundance earlier this year the general consensus has been that it's sort of a mess, and while that may be true, it's hard to deny that it would still be quite the beautiful disaster.

Shia LaBeouf continues his European swing (he's also got Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac on the way) as the titular American who falls in love with the beautiful and mysterious Gabi (Evan Rachel Wood). The problem is she's got a violent thug of a husband (Mads Mikkelsen) who takes every opportunity to beat some sense into his rival. The latest footage is very NSFW with flashes of boobs and plenty of blood-spilling, but it's also got a pace that simply won't quit.

Co-starring Til Schweiger, Rupert Grint, and Melissa Leo, Charlie Countryman opens November 15th, and will play at the Virginia Film Festival on November 8th.
