Marlon Wayans is Spooked Again in First Trailer for 'A Haunted House 2'
At a cost of only $2.5M, it wasn't going to take much for A Haunted House to be a hit. And sure enough, Marlon Wayans and Co. didn't offer up much in the way of laughs, but it was apparently enough for the small-budget spoof to bank nearly $60M. At the very least it turned out far better than Scary Movie 5 came close to achieving. Wayans and Open Road Films got moving on a sequel after a strong opening weekend, so America you only have yourselves to blame now that the trailer for A Haunted House 2 is here.
Well, at least there doesn't seem to be any occurrences of supernatural rape in this footage....at least not yet. Still this looks pretty terrible, even if the spoofs have been updated to include more successful films like The Conjuring and Sinister. Wayans is back as the cowardly Malcolm Johnson, who is attempting to move on after his wife (Essence Atkins) was killed in a car crash. Now shacked up with his white girlfriend (Jaime Pressly), their home comes under attack from a new and very jealous evil spirit.
Eh, it's exactly what you think it is, more of Wayans screaming a lot. Directed by the returning Michael Tiddes and co-starring Cedric the Entertainer and Gabriel Iglesias, A Haunted House 2 opens its doors March 28th 2014.
