With Disney sparing no expense to purchase LucasFilm and the rights to Star Wars, it comes as no surprise they'd want every marketable commodity to be a part of Star Wars: Episode VII. Rumors have already begun that the core trio of Luke Skywalker, Han and Leia Solo, and even Darth Vader would be included, to go along with the confirmed return of R2-D2. And now it appears Solo's favorite starship is going to be making an appearance.
According to sources at Yahoo Movies, the Millennium Falcon has already been built and is ready to make the jump to lightspeed when production begins next year.....
"A full-scale 1:1 Millennium Falcon has been built as well as the interiors of the ship for filming. The Falcon is done – inside and out. The sets were built off-site, ready to move when Lucasfilm/Bad Robot were ready to move into Pinewood.”
It's doubtful Abrams and Co. would waste time and money on the fastest Corellian YT-1300 in the galaxy if they weren't planning to make it a major part of the story. Perhaps Han passed it off to one of his kids? Nah, an old rogue like him would hold on to it until he lost it in a game of sabaac.
Star Wars: Episode VII opens December 18th 2015.
