Inside Llewyn Davis, the latest film from the Coen brothers, gives us a look at a week inside the life of a young man trying to find solo success in the early 60's folk music scene. Starring one of my favorite up and comers, Oscar Issac, this is definitely one of the films rumored to be carrying some Oscar buzz going into the heat of the season. This latest clip, one of my favorite scenes from the movie, shows us Llewyn sitting in on the recording of what will likely become a future hit. It perfectly encapsulates Llewyn's discomfort with the state of pop music at the time while also showing us how, for lack of a better term, silly it must have seemed in studio when artists like the Big Bopper were recording their hits back in the late 50's/early 60's. Most of all it shows how amazing the process of creating in studio is. One second all three are on different pages, then with a single, ridiculous sounding, adjustment, it all comes together to be something inseparable from what you may have heard your parents listening to on the oldies station when you were a kid.
