New Trailer for Latino Spinoff 'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones'
The first of two Paranormal Activity flicks to haunt theaters next year is the Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, a Latino-themed spinoff. Similar to the little-seen Parnormal Activity: Tokyo Night, this one takes the found footage scares outside of an upper-class homestead and into a fresh locale, while staying closely tied to the evil plans of the infamous Katie demon.
A new international trailer has been released and even if the franchise has probably run its course, it's still capable of some seriously disturbing imagery. The story this time around follows Jesse (Andrew Jacobs) who along with some friends busts in the home of a recently-murdered neighbor. What they discover are all sorts of strange objects used for black magic and rituals, and the missing box of tapes from Paranormal Activity 3. Molly Ephraim, who played the daughter Ali from Paranormal Activity 2 makes an appearance but it's unclear how she ties into the ever-expanding storyline. Give the filmmakers credit for building on the Paranormal Activity universe in a way that (mostly) rewards paying attention to every detail when you're not busy hiding your face in fear.
Directed by Christopher Landon, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones opens January 3rd 2014.
