Quentin Tarantino's Next Film is Another Western
When Quentin Tarantino talks, people listen, especially for any kernel of news about what projects he has coming up. It used to be he'd take four or five years between films but lately he's been jumping from one right into another. Considering Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained have been the most lucrative of his career, it makes sense to keep up the momentum. And as it turns out, Tarantino may be following-up the $425M haul of 'Django' with another film in the Western genre.
While on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (do people still watch that?), Tarantino revealed that the script he's currently working on is a Western...
Tarantino: "I can’t talk that much about it, but I will say one thing. I haven’t told anyone about this publicly, but I will say the genre. It’s a western. It’s not a Django sequel, but it’s another Western. I had so much fun doing Django and I love westerns so much, that after I taught myself how to make one, it’s like “OK, now let me make another one now that I know what I’m doing.”
I guess that means the Inglourious Basterds tie-in film Killer Crow is off the table for now? Tarantino has talked in the past about making a film based on abolitionist John Brown, and this could be that, but really this seems like something totally new.
