'Life of Pi' Writer to Pen 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair'

Diminishing returns on the first three 'Chronicles of Narnia' movies nearly put the C.S. Lewis adaptations on the shelf for good. A little behind-the-scenes restructuring it was announced in October that development had begun on the fourth film, The Silver Chair, and now an Oscar-nominated screenwriter has come aboard.

Life of Pi writer David Magee will pen The Silver Chair, which takes place after decades have passed in Narnia while only a year has gone by in England. When King Caspian's son goes missing, Aslan seeks the help of humans Eustace Scrubb and Jill Pole to find him. Scrubb was played by We're the Millers star Will Poulter in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, but it's unclear if he'll return.

The Chronicles of Narnia films have earned over $1.6B worldwide, and if The Silver Chair can set the series back on track there's no reason we won't see all seven of Lewis' novels brought to the big screen.
