Nicholas Hoult to Star in Britpop Comedy 'Kill Your Friends'

The '90s are now far enough in the rear view that they have been the subject of numerous nostalgia pieces, which may be a little upsetting for those of us of a certain age. But it's not going to stop, and now a new film set during the '90s Britpop music scene is on the way with Nicholas Hoult on board to star.

Deadline reports Hoult and Jim Piddock (Best in Show) will star in Kill Your Friends, an adaptation of the John Niven novel about an A&R man (Hoult) during the '90s Britpop music wave who goes to extremes to find the next big hit. Niven adapted the screenplay himself and Owen Harris (Secret Diary of a Call Girl) is directing.

Hopefully this turns out better than some of the other genre-specific musical comedies we've seen lately, and yes I'm talking about you, CBGB
