Disney's 'It's a Small World' Attraction to be a Movie Directed by Jon Turteltaub

There have been so many Pirates of the Caribbean movies at this point it's easy to forget the amusement park attraction they sprang from. Disney has obviously found a lot of success bringing one attraction to the screen, and will try again later this year with Tomorrowland, but now they're planning one more with It's a Small World. What, no Space Mountain?

According to Deadline, Jon Turteltaub (Last Vegas) will direct a film based on the Disney musical boat ride, which features singing animatronic dolls representing citizens from across the globe. Jared Stern (co-writer on The Lego Movie 2) will write the script, but no plot details are available at this point. We can probably expect the familiar tune (which I thought got creepy after awhile) to be at the center of it, and probably some sort of story involving the world community coming together for a singular purpose. Call it a hunch.

This one's a ways off but Disney is eying it as a potential franchise, of course.
