Drew Goddard in Talks to Direct 'Sinister Six'

While there remain a number of questions surrounding the Spider-Man spinoffs, Venom and Spider-Man, the talent behind them has been known for awhile. In the case of Sinister Six, Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) was brought on to provide the screenplay, and at the time it was suspected he may direct as well. Now Deadline reports Goddard has indeed entered talks to helm the villain feature.

Details remains scarce, but it's looking like many if not all of the Sinister Six will appear in next month's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Jamie Foxx's Electro, Dane DeHaan's Green Goblin, and Paul Giamatti's Rhino are likely candidates, and we've seen the Vulture's wings, Doctor Octopus's tentacles, and the Venom symbiote in Oscorp's labs. If we're to believe composer Hans Zimmer during his chat with HuffPo, we will see the entire team of baddies in The Amazing Spider-man 2....

Zimmer: "I suppose I don’t think it’s a secret anymore but suddenly the Sinister Six were sort of introduced into the movie because we had a theme for them and it became irresistible to go and shoot these scenes."

 Sinister Six has no production timetable but it'll likely arrive after The Amazing Spider-Man 3 in 2016. In the meantime, Goddard will be keeping busy in the Marvel Universe as writer and director of the Daredevil Netflix series.
