If naive Americans ever learn that vacationing to tribal lands is a bad idea, the horror genre will probably die out. Fortunately that time is not yet here, and a group of eager travelers get more than they bargained for in Eli Roth's The Green Inferno, and the first trailer for the horror is here.
Roth's first directorial feature in seven years centers on a group of New York activists who journey to help a dying Amazonian tribe. Only they end up getting trapped there and taken hostage by the very natives they came to help. Well, maybe that'll learn 'em. This looks just like the sort of gory mess we'd expect from Roth, but reviews from its TIFF premiere were less than glowing.
The Green Inferno ignites on September 5th.
