First Trailer for 'If I Stay' Starring Chloe Moretz

Last year we saw Chloe Moretz break bones in Kick-Ass 2, and burn down an entire neighborhood in Carrie, but for her next film the battle she'll face will be an emotional one. Moretz is starring in If I Stay, an adaptation of Gayle Forman's young adult novel and one of the few that isn't a trilogy set in a post-apocalyptic future.

Directed by RJ Cutler from a Shauna Cross (Whip It) script, the film centers on Mia, a cello prodigy with a bright future ahead of her. She's got a hot new boyfriend in Adam, an indie rocker every girl in town wants; but just as she's being forced to decide between her relationship and her music, a car accident puts her into a coma. Having an out-of-body experience, Mia is forced to decide whether to fight on and make the hard choices ahead of her, or give up and pass on from this life.

Co-starring Mireille Enos and Jamie Blackley, If I Stay opens August 22nd.
