Final 'Edge of Tomorrow' Trailer Plus Spoof 'Edge of Groundhog'

Speaking of "Live. Die. Repeat.", the hype for Tom Cruise's latest foray into sci-fi, Edge of Tomorrow, has been building over the last few days. With early reviews on the Doug Liman-directed flick suggesting it may be a cut above Cruise's last genre effort, Oblivion (which I totally dug), the question now is whether he can reclaim his position as a summer megastar.

On the heels of a ton of recently-released clips, we now have what is being billed as the "final" Edge of Tomorrow trailer. It's funny how studios now feel the need to tell us such things, as if knowing they've gone over the promo deep-end. Cruise is a soldier caught in a time loop after being killed in an alien war and must repeat the day of his death until improving enough to change the course of history.

So yeah, it's the total Groundhog Day concept with 100% more killer aliens, which is why the folks at Slate have come up with Edge of Groundhog, a spoof that merges the two films together seamlessly.

Edge of Tomorrow opens June 5th and co-stars Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton.
