Batman to Get Solo Film in 2019? Jason Momoa Addresses Aquaman Rumors

It was inevitable that DC and Warner Bros.' proposed schedule for their upcoming slate of superhero films would only lead to even more speculation. And perhaps there's just cause to be a little skeptical as we've already seen a couple of blocks knocked out from under it, starting with the apparent addition of Aquaman to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice roster. Whether or not the line-up, which includes a Man of Steel sequel in 2018 and a trio of Justice League spinoff films in 2017, turns out to be accurate or not the rumors will keep on coming, and now there's one more involving Ben Affleck's Batman.

According to a story at Latino Review, Warner Bros. is planning a solo Batman film in 2019 which Affleck would star in. It would be titled The Batman and the release does seem to fit with Affleck's scheduling window. He's set to write, direct, and star in the long-developing Prohibition drama, Live By Night, which opens in 2016.

But first Affleck must get through 'Dawn of Justice', and recent reports have confirmed he'll be joined by Jason Momoa as Aquaman. But Momoa, who has frequently and often angrily disputed the stories, played it coy on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, saying they were "all rumors" but never denying the possibility outright.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens May 6th 2016.
