Dan Stevens is 'The Guest' in Creepy New Trailer

It took a lot of guts for Dan Stevens to leave the popular Downton Abbey and pursue his movie career full-time, but the decision seems to be paying off. Granted, it got off to a slow start with The Fifth Estate and Summer the period piece Summer in February, with audiences absolutely ignoring both films. But later this year he'll get to chase around Ben Stiller in Night at the Museum 3, and at this past Sundance he received a ton of praise for his performance in Adam Wingard's The Guest, with a new trailer arriving to show what the fuss was about.

Wingard, who directed the superb home invasion thriller You're Next, treads slightly familiar ground in The Guest but seems to be giving it a slightly more personal focus, even though the body count may be just as high. Stevens plays a soldier who becomes friends with the family of a fallen serviceman, only to pose a danger to them when it seems he may not be who he claimed to be.  Reviews from Park City were strong with Wingard earning comparisons to John Carpenter, which is never a bad thing.

Also starring Maika Monroe (At Any Price), Brendan Meyer, Sheila Kelly, Lance Reddick, Leland Orser, and Ethan Embry, The Guest arrives this September.
