'Insidious: Chapter 3' Lands Dermot Mulroney for Lead Role

Blumhouse Productions has kept their hot streak of low-budget horror hits going, and while they have the Paranormal Activity franchise at the center of their success, the Insidious movies aren't far behind. On a combined budget of around $6M the two previous movies hauled in $260M, so it's a little surprising that so much is changing for Insidious: Chapter 3. Screenwriter Leigh Whannell is taking over the directing reins, and now a whole new cast is beginning to take shape.

With Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne confirmed as out some time ago, a new family will be terrorized by supernatural forces. Whannell confirmed on Twitter that Dermot Mulroney (August: Osage County) will be taking a lead role in the film, joining the previously cast Stefanie Scott. Plot details are still be kept under wraps but we can probably expect it to again involve the demonic realm known as The Further.

Insidious: Chapter 3 opens April 3rd 2015.
