Jason Sudeikis Joins 'Loomis Fargo'; Tom Hanks Goes to 'Ithaca'; Will Poulter Boards 'The Revenant'
* Jason Sudeikis, who is already set to lead a Fletch reboot, has joined the comedy formerly known as Loomis Fargo. Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, and Kristen Wiig star in the Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) film about armored truck driver who teams up with a gorgeous co-worker and a group of inexperienced criminals to steal $20M from a bank. The spending sprees they on leave an obvious trail of evidence for the cops to follow, and the driver ends up getting double-crossed by his accomplices. Sudeikis will play a hit man in the story which is inspired by actual events. [TheWrap]
* Tom Hanks will make a cameo appearance in Meg Ryan's directorial debut, Ithaca, an adaptation of William Saroyan's 1943 novel, The Human Comedy. This will be the fourth collaboration between the two after they were America's favorite couple in some of the most memorable rom-coms ever made. The coming-of-age drama is set during WWII and tells the story of teenaged Homer Macauley, a telegraph bike messenger whose older brother Ulysses has been shipped off to war. Left to take care of his widowed mother, older sister, and younger brother, Homer delivers message of love, pain, death, and friendship revealing the true effects of war on the homefront. Hanks would play Homer's father. [THR]
* Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu already has Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy on board for his revenge thriller, The Revenant, and now he's made one more addition in Will Poulter. Last seen in We're the Millers, Poulter joins the film set in the 1820s and follows a "frontiersman on a path of vengeance against those who left him for dead after a bear mauling." [Variety]
