New Trailer for Third 'Atlas Shrugged' Asks "Who is John Galt?"

As you know I've had a great deal of fun laughing at the failure of the Atlas Shrugged movies, and I think it's justified. Not only are the movies lousy but they fly in the face of everything Ayn Rand ever would have stood for. The first two movies cost $30M combined but were only able to make $7M, and this despite swapping directors and changing out the cast for "bigger" names. But the final twist of the comedic knife comes with Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt?, as producers were forced to turn to those socialists at Kickstarter for some crowd-sourced funding. Oops.

So what was the result? Not much, as it turns out. If you saw the terrible teaser from a couple of weeks ago then how low-rent this full trailer looks will come as no surprise. The story centers on the mysterious John Galt, the embodiment of Rand's belief in "rational selfishness", and if you look through the muddy visuals in this trailer what you'll discover is that without self-serving rich people America will turn into an apocalyptic wasteland. But at least guys like Ron Paul (who makes an appearance) will be able to smile about it.

Obviously, this one's not for me but if you've been anxiously awaiting the big payoff to this "epic" trilogy Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt? opens September 12th.
