Guardians of the Galaxy took Marvel into the wide expanse of space, but Avengers: Age of Ultron will be set on Earth. And when the action's earthbound and some of the geeky science stuff needs to be explained, the guy who gets called is astrophysicist Dr. Erik Selvig, and Stellan Skarsgard has just confirmed he'll be back, and probably naked again.
Speaking with Total Film, Skarsgard said he has a small role in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which centers on the team of superheroes battle the evil robot creation of Tony Stark. Ultron has grown beyond his programming and, in an effort to bring about world peace, has figured the best way to do it is eliminate humanity. How does Dr. Selvig fit into that scenario? He does in a way that requires the least amount of clothes possible, just like in Thor: The Dark World.
Skarsgard: “Yeah, I was naked again. They called my agent and said, ‘Do you think Stellan will mind being naked?’ My agent laughed his head off. Yeah, I almost insist! Sometimes with a contract you get a nudity clause, which is fantastic. It’s supposed to protect me from having my genitals exploited, which I doubt anybody would make a dime on. First of all, I don’t know what I’m allowed to say. But usually they call me in if they need something explained. There’s a lot of explanations to do when it comes to that universe.”
Sounds like Selvig is still feeling the effects of Loki's possession. Avengers: Age of Ultron opens May 1st 2015.
