Taylor Kitsch May Star in 'The Raid' Remake
It may leave a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach knowing that a remake of The Raid, arguably the most awesome fight flick ever, is being put together by Hollywood right now. But what has probably bugged fans of Gareth Evans' film is the list of names eyed for the lead role. While Frank Grillo may have been a respectable choice, earlier reports of the Hemsworth brothers (Chris, Liam....and another one) irked a lot of people. And chances are those people will be upset with this latest story that puts Taylor Kitsch into the mix.
The Wrap has the story, saying the Lone Survivor star has been offered the lead role, presumably the one played by Iko Uwais in Evans' two 'Raid' movies. Kitsch is currently circling one of the lead parts in True Detective season two, which is expected to go into production soon and be done by next January. It's perfect timing since that is when Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) is expected to begin filming The Raid, .
So we'll see what happens, but does anybody think Kitsch is right for this? And what does this mean for Grillo, who confirmed his involvement some time back? Is he gone or is he perhaps eying one of the other roles? He'd make a heck of a Mad Dog.
