With Rooney Mara, Vanessa Redgrave, and Jeremy Irons already on board for Jim Sherdian's adaptation of The Secret Scripture, the film already has the talent to draw in a wide audience. But how about adding a little testosterone into the mix by bringing on Eric Bana, Jack Reynor, and Theo James, all three coming off hugely successful projects.
Bana, Reynor, and James have joined the adaptation of Sebastian Barry's award-winning novel about a 100-year-old mental patient and her mysterious past. Bana, who recently starred in Lone Survivor and Deliver Us from Evil, will play the rebellious doctor in charge of her case; Divergent's Theo James is a Catholic priest; and Reynor, last seen in Transformers: Age of Extinction, will play a British soldier and Mara's love interest. Mara and Redgrave will play the younger and older versions of the same character.
Filming is set to begin once James wraps on the Divergent sequel, Insurgent.
