Boy Scouts Face True Terror in Trailer for 'Cub'
The Toronto International Film Festival kicks into gear today, and while it will feature more than its share of awards hopefuls, the Midnight Madness section is something else entirely. The late-night program is geared towards the year's most provocative genre films, especially horrors, and one that has been building a lot of positive early buzz is Cub, from Belgian director Jonas Govaerts.
The first trailer has arrived and it's a chilling piece of work that should kill any plans to go camping any time soon. The story centers on 12-year-old Sam (Maurice Luijten), a troubled Boy Scout who goes on a camping trip with his scout troop and claims to have seen something lurking in the woods. Of course nobody believes him until he's proven right by a very real, feral threat.
Cub has yet to gain distribution but that will probably change by the time TIFF has wrapped up.
