'The Equalizer' goes Brick by Brick in New Clips
Denzel Washington and Antoine Fuqua's The Equalizer is making its debut at TIFF, an unusual move for a major studio picture expected to be a big hit. But it speaks to the confidence Sony has by putting it in front of the most discerning eyes, and now they've released a couple of new clips from the movie's quieter moments.
Co-starring Chloe Moretz and Marton Csokas, the remake of the 1980s TV series has Denzel as a former Black Ops agent who gave it all up and now works as a protector of the innocent. And his way of protecting them means excessive amounts of stylized violence, earning the film an R-rating. These two scenes show him trying to intimidate the film's villain (Csokas), and convincing a young prostitute (Moretz) there is a better life out there than the one she's in now.
The Equalizer opens September 19th, and if it does well a sequel is already in the works.
