Nepotism is a hell of a thing, especially in Hollywood. When your fathers are Johnny Depp and Kevin Smith it comes with certain perks, and one of those is getting work in their dad's latest movies. Depp and Smith recently teamed up on the oddball horror-comedy Tusk, the first of the director's "True North" horror trilogy, and now we have the first look at their daughters in the follow-up, Yoga Hosers.
Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp are reprising their roles as the Eh-2-Zed (basically the Canadian Quick Stop) store clerks from Tusk, this time attempting to stop an ancient evil rising beneath Canada's crust using their advanced yoga skills. "Their onscreen chemistry comes courtesy of a lifelong friendship: Harley and Lily have known each other since first grade," Smith says. "Acting is a job of making choices, and Harley and Lily were making their own character and delivery choices from day one on the flick. At one point, I pulled them both aside to ask, 'You are making excellent choices without me saying anything. What adult is telling you to do these things behind my back?' The girls said they'd simply learned to act from watching movies and TV shows their whole lives. But in their case, acting and goofing around is in their blood. And it was thrilling to watch them both take their first steps in what's bound to be a lifelong passion for performance."
Yoga Hosers also stars Justin Long, Genesis Rodriguez, Jason Mewes, Natasha Lyonne, Adam Brody, Jennifer Schwalbach, Tony Hale, Tyler Posey, and Michael Parks.
