*UPDATE* Paul Feig's 'Ghostbusters' Cast Revealed; Bill Murray Sought for Role

Who ya gonna call? When it comes to Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot it will be Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and SNL vets Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. The four have been revealed as the stars of Feig's all-female comedy based on the cult classic, and what's more we're even learning a little bit about their characters, and how Bill Murray could still be a part of it.

According to Hitfix, these are the breakdowns for the new Ghostbusting squad...

Erin Gabler is an academic on the tenure track at Columbia. Her former colleague and co-author is…
Abby Bergman, who’s more on the pop parapsychology side of things, and pursues ghosts for a living.
Jillian is Abby’s ghost hunting partner.
Patty is an MTA employee who comes across the main ghost.

It's unclear who would take on which role, but Feig apparently is looking to get Bill Murray to turn up as someone other than Peter Venkman, which would be a huge boost to the film's prospects with fans of the original. Also, Peter Dinklage is being sought out to play the villain, a "creepy mechanical genius".

There's still a long way to go before Ghostbusters gets moving, but Feig and co-writer Kate Dippold seem to be on the right track.

*UPDATE* Paul Feig has revealed that his Ghostbusters film will open on July 22nd 2016.
