Bradley Cooper Sets His Sights on 'Orphan X'

Now that American Sniper has smashed all expectations with more than $360M worldwide, Warner Bros. is looking to stay in the Bradley Cooper business. Their next project isn't likely to be met with the same level of controversy, but with Cooper on board it's bound to have a lot of attention. According to THR, the studio is looking to snatch up the rights to crime novelist/comic book writer Gregg Hurwitz's upcoming book, Orphan X, as a starring vehicle for Cooper.

Cooper and Todd Phillips (The Hangover) would produce the film, which Hurwitz would adapt himself to tell the story of "a man named Evan Smoak. He's called a "Nowhere Man," and he helps others, sometimes through violent means. A job draws him into a world of human slavery, engineered by a detective of the Los Angeles Police Department."

This one is still pretty early on as no director is being looked at yet. Cooper is set to star in Cameron Crowe's upcoming comedy, Aloha, and will appear in the Netflix original series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. His performance in American Sniper could earn him a Best Actor win at the Academy Awards later this month.
