Uh, remember The Last Knights? It was announced more than a couple of years ago with Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman as the headliners, which is a pretty good place for a swords 'n honor film to start. But despite the cast and direction from Japanese helmer Kazuaki Kiriya (The Legend of Goemon), the movie has been gathering dust for awhile. Only now is a trailer being released and one look at it will give you a pretty good idea why little has been seen or heard from the film.
Also starring Cliff Curtis, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Ayelet Zurer, and Aksel Hennie as the baddie, the story centers on a band of noble knights seeking to avenge the their master. Does it look terrible? Not really, but other than the cast and some pretty authentic suits of armor there's nothing that appears to be any better than an average episode of Game of Thrones.
The Last Knights hits VOD and theaters on April 3rd.
