Henry Cavill is a Suave Super Spy in 'The Man from UNCLE' Trailer and Poster
Are we in the midst of some kind of spy movie renaissance? That's hard to say because of the three major spy flicks arriving in 2015, only the James Bond film Spectre is a straight-up take on the genre. The other two are twists on the formula or outright deconstructions. The first is this weekend's Kingsman: The Secret Service (review later!), and the other is Guy Ritchie's adaptation of the cult favorite TV series, The Man from UNCLE.
Today sees the arrival of a handful of new images and brand new poster featuring stars Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, and Alicia Vikander. Cavill plays American agent Napoleon Solo who must work with KGB agent (Hammer) to stop an evil organization bent on world domination. It's hard to tell what kind of tone Ritchie is going for here, but based on these images it looks to be slick and swinging with '60s cool, while hopefully maintaining some of the off-beat feel of the show.
Also starring Hugh Grant, Elizabeth Debicki, and Jared Harris, The Man from UNCLE arrives on August 14th. [EW]
