Taylor Schilling, Morena Baccarin, and More Up for 'Deadpool' Female Lead

Given Deadpool's rather messy history with the opposite sex, there's no natural character one would peg for the feature film starring Ryan Reynolds. Would it be the physical embodiment of Death, someone he's had a fixation on for years? Or maybe it would be the former X-force member, Siryn? The luck-altering mutant Domino? Or maybe Deadpool's current wife, Shiklah? Whoever it turns out to be, 20th Century Fox has begun rounding up a few names to be the female lead.

Six actresses are testing for the role and they're led by Gotham and Firefly star, Morena Baccarin; Orange is the New Black's Taylor Schilling; Crystal Reed (Teen Wolf); Rebecca Rittenhouse (The Red Band Society); Sarah Greene (Vikings); and Jessica De Gouw from CW's Arrow.

Schilling is the biggest name and probably is tops on Fox's want list, but Baccarin and De Gouw are more likely to click with the audience they're targeting. Deadpool is set to open in February 2016 with Tim Miller directing. [Deadline]
