Jeremy Renner first hinted that he might suit up as Hawkeye in Captain America: Civil War some time ago, only to reverse course and suggest otherwise later. But it always seemed likely that the Avengers' archer would be in what is shaping up to be an important chapter in the Marvel Universe, and now it has been confirmed he will be.
In THR's report on Renner joining sci-fi film Story of Your Life, they confirm he will take part in the spring shoot for 'Civil War'. It's turning out to be a jam-packed film that will see Renner co-starring opposite Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., and Scarlett Johansson, not to mention the debut of Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. Plus, it's expected that Marvel's Spider-Man will make his debut in the cinematic universe. With all of that going on Hawkeye may get lost in the shuffle again, just as he was in The Avengers.
Captain America: Civil War opens May 6th 2016.
