Josh Gad Joins 'Beauty and the Beast'; Nicola Peltz, Peter Dinklage take 'The Deep Blue Good-By'
Disney just can't get enough of Josh Gad, only now the actor who voices Olaf in Frozen (and the newly-announced sequel) will be seen rather than heard. He's joining Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast, taking on the role of Lefou, the silly sidekick character created specifically for the 1991 animated film. Emma Watson is set for the role of Belle, with Dan Steven as the Beast and Luke Evans as the villain Gaston. Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) will direct from a script by The Perks of Being a Wallflower's Stephen Chbosky. [THR]
Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike are going to be joined by Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage and Transformers: Age of Extinction's Nicola Peltz in The Deep Blue Good-By. The film is an adaptation of John D. MacDonald's mystery novel, part of a series centering on Travis McGee, a beach bum and self-proclaimed "salvage expert" who often gets in over his head when helping women. Dinklage will play McGee's sidekick, a mathematician who made a fortune thanks to an app. Peltz plays a woman who acts beyond her age, knows more than she's letting on about the sapphires she's hired McGee to find, and ends up on the wrong side of a torturer. James Mangold is directing from a script by Dennis Lehane.
