Those sneaky fanboys over at Marvel pulled a fast one. After announcing that the new trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron would arrive on Thursday night, they've released it a full day early to coincide with the latest poster. The image compiles all of the character posters revealed over the last week, and a close look at the credits confirms Idris Elba, Anthony Mackie, and Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) are joining in on the action.
So what about the trailer? There's a ton of new footage to be found, including our best look at the android Vision (Paul Bettany) yet. Mainly this film is designed for one reason: to drive a wedge between the already-volatile Avengers, so we plenty of in-fighting when the team isn't battling thousands of Ultron drones or the combined might of siblings Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).
The challenge for Joss Whedon is meeting some incredibly high expectations, and at least in terms of size and scope he appears to have nailed it. We'll find out when Avengers: Age of Ultron opens May 1st.
