Josh Gad and Jeremy Garelick Reteam for Untitled Musical Comedy

It's a busy time for Josh Gad right now as his comedy series The Comedians is currently airing on FX (It looks terrible, but is it any good? Let me know.), and he's in London preparing for a role in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. But he's also just sold a major pitch to Universal for an untitled musical comedy that will reteam him with writer/director, Jeremy Garelick.

A fierce bidding war had been taking place for the film, which will feature brand new music composed by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz (Enchanted). Gad and Garelick cooked up the idea together for a story about a man who integrates himself into a family lead by a busy single mother, and becomes an important member of their clan.

Gad and Garelick last worked together on the latter's directorial debut, The Wedding Ringer. No word on when this will shoot as Gad still has that Frozen sequel Disney is going to want to move on soon.[Deadline]
