Marvel's Netflix Heroes Rumored to Appear in 'Avengers: Infinity War'
Like a number of Marvel geeks, I spent all of last weekend devouring every episode of Daredevil I possibly could. The show has been an instant hit and the reviews have been strong all across the board. My immediate take away from it was how cinematic the whole thing was. Each episode was like a little movie, and star Charlie Cox (who I haven't really liked in the past) had what it takes if Marvel decided to bring Daredevil to the big screen. And now a rumor suggests that could be happening with all of the Netflix characters.
A story at Bleeding Cool says Marvel plans to call up The Defenders to the big leagues, but not until Avengers: Infinity War part 2 on May 3rd 2019. The Defenders are comprised of the Netflix leads: Daredevil, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist. The Defenders series arrives at a future date once all of the others have run their course. AKA Jessica Jones airs later this year, followed by Luke Cage then Iron Fist.
So are these Netflix shows ways to pull a backdoor launch of new movie franchises? They arrive fully-formed with an dedicated fan base ready to take over for Iron Man, Thor, and the rest who may not be sticking around much longer? That's what it sounds like.
