Guillermo Del Toro always has about a half-dozen projects cooking at any time, many of which never happen at all. He just keeps them tucked away just in case his schedule opens up (it rarely does). One of those films he's been developing for years is Haunted Mansion, a Disney film based on the theme park attraction. Over the weekend Del Toro was spotted at Disneyland riding the Haunted Mansion and other rides with his new best friend and next star: Ryan Gosling.
The Wrap says Gosling has entered talks to star in Haunted Mansion, a film that has been in the works since 2010. Last month Del Toro moderated a SXSW panel with Gosling to talk about his directorial debut, Lost River (my review here), and the two apparently hit it off like gangbusters.
So, Baby Goose and Del Toro? Let that sink in for awhile. Could be amazing, right? Haunted Mansion has a script by D.V. DeVincentis (High Fidelity) which is expected to be a scary and funny family film.
