Rosamund Pike, Mia Wasikowska, Jack O'Connell, Jack Reynor, and Jason Clarke Join WWII Drama 'HHHH'
More often than not a cast absolutely packed with stars turns out to be a great thing, leading to all sorts of awards and maybe even a skyrocketing box office haul. I've still got my fingers crossed for the amazing lineup assembled for Triple Nine. Other times...you get All the King's Men..or more recently a total dud like Child 44. Hopefully that won't be the case with the upcoming adaptation of Laurent Binet's WWII novel, HHHH, because the cast is simply out of this world.
Variety reports Jack O'Connell (Unbroken), Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), and Mia Wasikowska (Tracks) are set to star in the film which centers on the rise and fall of Nazi "Final Solution" mastermind Reinhard Heydrich. Clarke will play Heydrich, who was ultimately assassinated by a pair of Czech and Slovakian paratroopers (played by O'Connell and Raynor) in 1942. Pike will play Heydrich's wife, Lina, an aristocrat who introduced him to the Nazi ideology. Wasikowska's role is that of a rebel fighter.
The film will be directed and co-written by Cedric Jimenez as a follow-up to The Connection (review here), the slick '70s crime thriller led by Jean Dujdardin. Filming on HHHH, which hopefully will get a title change, begins in August.
