Vincent D'Onofrio Joins Dax Shepard's 'CHiPs' Comedy as the Villain
Vincent D'Onofrio has a creepy presence that can't be denied, that's why he's so good at playing bad guys. We've seen him lay a vicious smackdown as the Kingpin on Marvel's Daredevil series, and he's probably going to do something really evil in Jurassic World. Even when he's a good guy, like on Law & Order: Criminal Intent he seems a little bit off. Now we'll get to see what he can do in the upcoming CHiPs movie being put together by Dax Shepard, and yes he'll be the bad guy.
It was revealed some months back that Shepard would co-write, star, and direct the big screen take on CHiPs, based on the 1970s cop show that made Erik Estrada both famous and the butt of jokes. Shepard will star alongside Michael Pena as motorcycle patrol officers Jon Baker and Frank Poncherello as they ride up and down the highway looking for speeding motorists. Hopefully there will be more to it than that. D'Onofrio will play a former cop now the ringleader of an exotic car theft ring.
So will this be a successful TV remake like 21 Jump Street, or will it be The Dukes of Hazzard? Only time will tell. [THR]
