Amy Poehler and Ike Barinholtz take the Court for an untitled Basketball Comedy

The NBA's San Antonio Spurs made headlines when they hired Becky Hammon, an ex-WNBA player, to be the first assistant coach in league history. This after she coached the Spurs' summer league team a championship. These are the kinds of feel-good stories every league wants, and they're also the kinds of stories Hollywood loves to turn into movies. Amy Poehler is set to star in one such film, an untitled basketball comedy that will co-star Ike Barinholtz.

According to Variety, Poehler will star in the film as "a once-promising basketball coach who is asked to lead an NBA team". She'll reteam with Barinholtz, who has a role in Sisters along with her and Tina Fey. He'll also be co-writing the screenplay with David Stassen, having recently written the upcoming comedy Central Intelligence starring Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson. As if that's not enough, Barinholtz will voice a character in the Angry Birds movie, and has an unspecified role in Suicide Squad. He also writes for The Mindy Project which is entering its fourth season.

A director still needs to be found so this may be a ways off. Next up for her is a role in the comedy, The House, opposite Will Ferrell. So do yourself a favor and check out Poehler in Pixar's Inside Out where she voices Joy.
