Michael Cera is the Boy Wonder in 'Lego Batman'

Michael Cera has largely stayed out of the spotlight of late, mostly sticking to indies like Crystal Fairy, Magic Magic, and David Cross' Hits. He's also been busy lending his voice to Adult Swim's Children's Hospital, and has lined up another voice acting role in Sausage Party opposite his pals Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill. And it's something he has apparently taken to as Cera will be lending his voice to the upcoming Lego Batman movie as none other than Robin.

Will Arnett is reprising his role as Batman in the spinoff of The Lego Movie, with Cera set to play his Boy Wonder. Seth Grahame-Smith (Pride & Prejudice & Zombies) wrote the screenplay with Chris McKay directing the film, although it's unclear what the conceited Lego version of the Dark Night will be up to. Expect plenty of superhero cameos, though, possibly even the return of Cera's Superbad co-star Jonah Hill as Green Lantern. Lego Batman opens May 26th 2017.

Cera is also set to write and direct an adaptation of Charles Portis' humor novel, Masters of Atlantis. Portis is the author who wrote True Grit, which has been adapted into two Western classics. The story "is set in the first half of the 20th century and tells of a young man who becomes entangled in a quasi-religious cult, centered on the lost city of Atlantis, named the Gnomon Society."
